What is the process you go through to adjust the cutting height? The 2305 and 2320 have a knob of the platform for adjusting and locking the MMM but not the 2520.

Mechanical lift uses the rockshaft lever.

Independent lift uses an adjustment knob located just behind the PTO selector lever on left side of tractor seat. Cutting height can be set with knob and can be locked in up position.

Thank you. Do you have the mechanical or independent lift on yours. And what are the pros and cons of each?

I have independent lift with an added selector valve so I can keep the loader hydraulic lines connected. With that said, I prefer the independent lift as operation of the deck does not effect any other function.

If I did not have the selector valve, I would most likely prefer the mechanical lift as it would not require disconnecting the loader lines.

I appreciate your feedback.I've been in that situation where you had to change the hydraulic lines and it was a annoying

I have read on this site that JD is coming out with a third SCV kit for the 2520 sometime this year. This would also work to power the mower deck lift.

Sorry to side-track this thread a bit, but just a teaser for those interesed in adding hydraulics to the 2520:
It baffles me why Deere makes such a big deal out of the added SCV kits. Most of the plumbing is already on the tractor, just needs a few fittings and hoses, mount the valve of your choice, and enjoy. Deere sells a "Power Beyond Kit" for about $225 for the 2520 tractor. It consists of a "block" which replaces the block already installed on the tractor, between the trans housing and the DSCV for the loader. The difference between the block that came with the tractor and the block that comes with the kit, is one set screw, John Deere part number PT13744 from memory. The set screw can be added to the block on your tractor, you don't need the new block. The set screw cost me a buck this week at my local dealer. Another thing that comes with the "P B kit" is three hoses and several fittings. the important fittings are the two that allow hose attachment to the tractor. Deere wants 70-some dollars for each of these two fittings if purchased seperately. They are simply commercially-available 90 degree fittings which should cost about 8 bucks each. Next week I will have the fitting thread type names and numbers of these two fittings. Once the set screw is added to the block and the fittings are installed, an open-center valve can be added and plumbed in, and will be active in series with all the other hyd functions of the tractor. I am about to go through this for the second time (first time on a 4100, same exact setup hydraulically), and will be starting a new thread in Customization, for those interested. It is easier and cheaper than you may think. Stay tuned to Customization. Now, back to MMM talk...

Ah, but then you will forego the thrill of enriching the life (and pockets) of your friendly JD dealer.
