I'm lucky enough to work from home. My SUV's battery is not so lucky in that respect since I rarely drive and I'm not close enough to an outlet to use a battery conditioner. Needless to say, after an extended nap when my 6 year old battery gave me a feeble "click" instead of the sound of a V8 roaring to life I was dismayed but not surprised. The wife was at work so that's no good (besides, her battery's in the trunk and that's just wrong). I could call AAA but that's an admission of defeat. If only I had one of those portable jumpstart batteries. Or a 12V battery attached to a diesel engine...
It must have been an amusing sight for the passers by, seeing a city-boy luxury SUV getting a jump from a little Deere with a loader and backhoe.
It took a few minutes to get enough charge to turn the engine over, but it worked like a champ!
