2520
Over the weekend my pin that attaches the top link to the tractor came loose and when I went to raise the three point the pin was half out and the lift arm applied pressure to the pin and broke one of the ears of the housing, part number AM879395 (number four). Well are you sitting down, the cost from Deere is $1660.00 for the housing, not including any other associated parts and labor. So I’m looking for any ideas that might yield a lighter load on the pocket book, such as a used one. Also to any other owners to watch your snap ring pins, it could be costly.

That seems to be very unreasonable. Somehow I bent my toplink the first week I had my 2520. I was told a replacement from Deere would be expensive, so I fixed mine myself. You may have to do the same. JC

Sorry to hear about your luck, I suddenly have an urge to check all my snap rings... You may be able to find a welding shop to try to get the ear back on but I'd be concerned that it's still got stress fractures if you've got any heavy equipment. A competent welder would probably be able to tell you the risks, but determining competency is a difficult job.

I looked at my tractor this afternoon after I had posted. I did not realize the top link was mounted into the cast part of the rear of the tractor. Like the previous poster said, talk to a good welder before ordering the part from Deere. JC

Can you post a picture of the damage? That might help someone here develop your solution. I don't have a 2320, but I'd be interested to see if the same applies to my 2305.

I'd just weld it back on. Even if it doesn't work out you have nothing to loose other than your time and the welders fees.

Sorry about your mishap.

I found out yesterday that part number AM879395 (rockshaft housing) is used on the 4100, 4110, 4115 and 2520. I found a couple of used ones from a 4100s both are in the $800 range. The salvage yards that offer them do so with 30 day money back warranty. They are going to pull them and get back to me today to let me know if they are in fact good units. So some relief, but it still hurts.

Just curious here, but can you post the salvage yards you contacted? Might be valuable info to somebody...

I am sorry to here what happened:eek:

I would recommend tractorhouse.com. You can search by part number or model number for used parts at salvage yards all over the country.
