2538 bucket hydraulic cylinder replacement

Has anyone had to replace the bucket cylinders on a 2538. I have two cylinders that are bent, and leaking. The Mahindra dealer quoted me a price of $750 a piece. I took them to a hydraulic shop and they said one was destroyed and one they couldn稚 get apart. He said they cut cut it apart and weld it back but then you could never service it again. Or if he couldn稚 find one that was close enough in size to the other one you would have to replace both anyway. They are checking prices On new ones, and also price for them to build me new ones in the shop. Just trying to see if anyone else has had this problem and which route you went to fix it.

I've had one cylinder leak on my 2538. Took it to a local mechanic to replaced/repacked the seals.

I've heard the cylinders are essential generic units, not Mahindra proprietary, but don't know for certain. I'm sure any decent hydraulics guy could make them for you for about ½ the price of Mahindra.

I beat the heck out of my front loader. Probably have 600 hours on the FEL alone out of the 1200 total hours on the tractor. Rocks, tree stumps, dirt, large stone, nothing seems to phase it. Would be interested to hear how you bent 2 cylinders if you care to share.

Took the cylinders to a local hydraulic shop. They are going to replace the rods, repack new seals etc $600. Said they would be better than new since the new rods would be better steal.
