I remember seeing this covered somewhere, when back dragging it will roll up a couple inches and then hold position, or if tractor is off and bucket is sitting on ground and curled up I can step on front edge and it will curl down and the cylinder will extend 2 inches, is this a cylinder issue or valve, I'm thinking valve since both cylinders extend doesn't seem likely they both would do it, when tractor is off

It’s not quite that simple to diagnose.

Go out and switch the quick connects between the lift and curl cylinders. Then run the machine (joystick will obviously work opposite) and see if the lift now has the issue. If it does it’s probably the valve.

Btw- most would tell you not to back drag with anything but a flat bucket- it’s hard on cylinders.

Cylinders take some replumbing or a bench test to diagnose. Because the amount of fluid on either side of the piston is so different it technically shouldn’t move even without a seal.

I also posted this same question on a facebook mahindra page and about 6 or 7 guys chimed in already saying their machines also do it, I previously had another 2538 but don't recall it doing it, so maybe it is normal and more noticeable in certain machines
