I have the EA Grapple and WR .

I plumbed it, but I noticed that when using any fel function, there is no flow to the grapple.

I do not have access to the flow diagram, so my question is, is this normal?

I assume not, meaning I have plumbed to the wrong port. But before I dig deeper, I figured I would ask.

Did you ever figure this out?

With "open center" hydraulics (which all Mahindras and most small tractors are blessed with) the system is simply circulating fluid at no pressure until a valve stops up the works. Then that valve gets all of the flow, with nothing downstream getting any. So it's working "as designed", which ain't necessarily "as desired".

I'm guessing that's why I can't curl and lower/raise at the same time

They do make valves that do allow you to do both, but without much greater hydraulic fluid flow, you get slow movement. I replaced my joystick with a joystick + grapple valve; since I have to unhand the joystick to close the grapple anyway, it doesn't matter too much to me.

Makes sense. For what I do I will be fine with the one function at a time. Good to know though. My friend has a huge old ford 555 and can do everything with it. Thought it was odd mine didn't but not a problem for me.

Smaller equipment are usually stuck with open center valves as the hydraulic attachments are just that...attachments to a tractor, they are not (Construction)Front End Loaders that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars so the hydraulic systems are kept small and inexpensive. Once you get into larger tractors and construction equipment you get to start seeing series valves, load check valves, pilot controls, and variable displacement pumps because the price allows for them. The price point that most of the tractors that are discussed here are at only allow for open center gear pump systems.

Try this out...... Curl slowly and operate the grapple at the same time. It should move both. Only so much fluid to go around on these tractors.... the further up stream in the hydraulic circuit the less fluid. Just the way they are.

Good news and bad news.

Good news is I know where I need to connect the plumbing.

Bad news is I know this because I changed it and still messed it up.

I have 3 lines on the FEL block.

I had it connected to the T line. Wrong.

I now have it connected to the P line. Also wrong, but it showed that curl and grapple can work.

I will now connect it to the unlabeled PB line and see how it goes.
