Does anyone know what size the lug nuts (bolts?) on the 2538 are?

Karl, I loved the Austin area. Was planning on building a house there, but then got the realization of the property taxes about to be levied. So I passed. But it's a great place. I'm envious !

You might want to update your profile to add which tractor you have (I'm assuming a 2538), but your profile inidcates you don't have a tractor yet....but then maybe your trying to build your own by ripping off the tires of someone else's ??

I updated my profile - thanks for pointing that out. Yes I have a 2538. It lives down on our friend's llama ranch and I use it on the weekends doing tractor things around the property. We are currently preparing a new property for her to move the animals to - fencing, clearing, etc. I'm having to leave the tractor there during the week. I usually chain it to a tree, but a friend suggested lifting the front end with the loader and removing one of the front tires, so I gave that a try yesterday. Pretty easy, though the wheel is heavy and a bit much to have sitting in back seat of my car all week.

One other deterrent you could do would be to install a "kill switch" that locks out the ignition. I've got one on my tractor, as I too had to leave it on a property until I could get a barn built to put it in.

Nothing will totally prevent a theft, but things like this will keep most of the thieves away. If you can park it in a hidden tree cove, or other obstruction, most people would never know it's there. But I'm sure you're already doing this.

Good luck with the llama farm.

I like the kill switch idea. I'll do some research on how to do that. Thanks!

Look on YouTube for "Tractor Mike", he has a video on the kill switch info, as well as lots of good info on numerous tractor related topics. I learned a lot from him right after I got my 2565 & still watch all of his new weekly videos. If you are new to tractors as I was, I highly recommend him!

I'm a big fan of Tractor Mike, and like you, have learned a lot from his videos. Haven't seen the one on kill switches yet, but I'll look for it now. Thanks!
