I have had my 2538 a couple weeks now and so far have been really enjoying it. I have been testing it on what it will and wont lift, which brings me to my question. I tested the pressure and its set to spec at 2500psi, but would it be ok to crank that up to 2600psi? Dont want to do anything crazy just love tinkering around with things like that and see what it changes.

I have been researching and haven't located anything yet except a couple places where it was mentioned that 10% over factory setting should be fine. I have an idea on what a safe pressure would be but wanted a second opinion. What if I put more weight than what the tractor could possibly handle on a pallet, say 25-30 sheets of 3/4 plywood. Then without any counter balance on the 3pt increase the pressure to the point where the rear of the tractor will just come off the ground a when trying to lift then stop. I would still keep a check on the pressure so it doesn't go to crazy though. The only weight I have is water in the tires so maybe better to go to the point the tractor gets light but remains touching the ground.

If it ain't broke don't fix it.
Remember there is more things like stress and strain on all the frame members cylinders etc. to consider other than just whether or not the rear tires stay in contact with the ground. The folks who built the loader tractor etc. considered all of this when the tractor was built. Also remember that nothing comes for free so some give here means that something will be taken from somewhere else.

Agreed. Sometimes my desire to tinker with things gets me into trouble. I havent done anything to adjust it and so far its lifted 95% of what I have liked for it to do. The other 5% was moving plywood off a delivery truck and would probably be better suited to a small forklift anyways. I debated on trying to trade my 2538 back in to get a 2555 but thats a decent chunk of change just for that last 5%.

Yeah that is a lot of money when can just unload the plywood a half stack at a time once or twice then have to live with a bigger tractor and less maneuverability.
