2542 Snow Blower

Well I finally found the snow blower attachment for my 2542. I found a 190-341 on the local Craigslist and now I am looking for advice on weights for the rear of the tractor. Am I better off with wheel weights or the suitcase weights for the rear of the tractor? What other weights has anybody used with good luck. Even if I have to fabricate some type of bracket OR maybe somebody has already fabricated a bracket and would be willing to share their idea. Any help would be appreciated.

I use wheel weights and a couple of suitcase weight....I also have a small metal tool box mounted on the rear that have a few pounds of tools in it.
The suitcase weights hang on a sleeve hitch...which is attached to a custom bracket.
I also use AG tires with chains.
Here's a couple of pics....one is a close up of the bracket for the sleeve hitch, but it could be modified for just weights.

Thanks for the reply and photo's. I sat down last night and made up a weight bracket that I am going to have my son fabricate for me out of steel BUT I like the proportions of yours even better with the way it comes out of the bracket on the tractor and increases in width. I may have to go down in the garage and modify mine to look like yours. Thanks again for the pic's.

I'm glad I could help.

It just dawned on me, when I got my 2542, they had just arrived at the dealers...I think it was Jan. 2006, and the setup CC used to route the coated cables for the snow thrower put them real close to the exhaust....melted the coating on the cables and that froze the cable. My dealer fabricated a bracket to keep the cables away from the exhaust.

Just make sure the cables for the discharge chute are not near the exhaust.
