255 Massey front end loader question?

I have just invested in a 1979 Massey Ferguson 255. It has a front end loader on it that is functioning, but it is running off the rear remotes therefore you have to use the controls for the rear remotes to operate it which is not that efficient. I have bought a joy stick and was wandering if any of you have done a mod like this and might have input on this. Any input would be greatly appreciatted thanks Chris.

U need to get a power beyond valve and had plumb it. They are pretty easy to install. If u need help locating one just let me know and ill b glad to help.

What valve did you buy?
What is the GPM and PSI rating for your machine?
Are the rear remotes plumbed with hoses, hard lines, or is it mounted directly to the tranny?

I will get some pictures tomorrow,and more info on the valve as it is at the shop. I can tell you that the rear remotes are plumbed with rubber hoses. I knew better than to post without more specs, I had planned on getting all my "ducks" in a row today before hand but it slipped my mind.

Ull b ok. I just did one a few months ago and u have plenty hydraulics. But did u get a open or closed center valve for the fel.

Okay so I got really busy today when I got back to the shop I finished fabricating a new bucket for the tractor we are talking about and I forgot to get pictures and info on the valve. I do happen to remember reading that there is a port on the valve that can be used for power beyond. I will try to get all the info needed tomorrow. Thanks Chris

Okay so I gatherd some info and a few pictures. I hope the pictures don't confuse more than help.

In this link is the instalation info, it shows a power beyond port.

This is the feed and return from the pump.

This is the filter.

This is the feed and return lines to the valve for the rear remotes. Plus there is a small line going into the body of the tractor in the area of the three point.

I have a 285 MF with loader and we use the 2 remotes at the back to power a joystick control valve. Ken Sweet

I just purchased a '79 model 255 last night and it too has the loader controller running off the rear. The lift is very slow. Seems like this would be a volume issue more that a pressure issue because it has plenty of power. Would this new system help this? I would much rather have a joystick controller anyway.
