2550 or 2544, how different?

Aside from deck size and 1 HP, are these identical? I see a lot of complaints about the 2544 but nothing at all on the 2550. I'm buying one of these this week and was just wondering.

I've seen posts about uneven cutting from the decks on the 44, foot pedal adjustments because the tractor wont stop when you let off the pedal, headlight wires melting causing blown fuses, etc. Some of these problems may be across the entire CC line but it seems like it's always the 44 people are talking about. I would keep my JD L120 if it weren't for the fact that I have replaced the drive belt twice after blowing out trying to pull a mow-n-vac. Apparently shaft-drive is a must for me!

You will see more info out there on the 2544 as it's probably the most popular of this year's 2500 series machines. 2550 is second most popular, I have yet to see anyone with a 2554 on any forum. They are all the same GT.

We are here also, and are running into the same issues. Like the machine overall, but you just have to wonder sometimes at some of the issues we are seeing with these units.

Can't beat the machine for a work horse though. I have the Hydro tiller as well ... love to make that thing work.

Well, I decided to buy the 2550. I guess I will just go ahead and re-route the headlight wires before I have a problem.

Joel )</font>I have a 2523 which is this years 2554 and it it generally the same GT but with a 54 inch cut instead of a 50 on the 2550 I bought mine with ag tires and highly reccomend them if you any hills to speak of. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
