Hard to say. The hydro will pressure relief if it can't spin the output shaft. The 2 and 3K series hold so much oil, it would take a lot to severely overheat the oil. As long as you don't get crazy with tongue weight and expect to stop in a downhill situation, it's a try and see thing. I know I dragged a 2'x5' x ~1' thick slab of concrete with a nylon sling a few hundred feet across the lawn w/out the slightest lack of pulling power.

Is it imperative to run the engine at WOT (like when mowing) just to move stuff around or doesn't the trans really care about RPM to operate?
...I wish I had my old gear box back sometimes.
