I have a 2555 Shuttle with Backhoe I only have 35 hours on it. This past weekend I was working moving my winter manure pile and ran into a issue with my loader. After working for a while I noticed that my loader wouldn't fully dump the bucket past the vertical dump point. What I mean is I couldn't get the bucket to go past the straight down position, to bounce the stuck material out of the bucket, it just sort of hung there and the control lever seemed not to respond. It was like the hydraulics would not respond or there wasn't enough fluid in the system. I checked the fluid level and it was right where it should have been on the dip stick. The only way I could get it to rock the bucket back was to increase RPM and that would cause the bucket to violently slam backward. I stopped for a while and let hydraulics cool down and then it worked fine for a short while, but then stated doing it again. When I pulled the hydraulic dip stick I didn't see any foam or anything that would indicate air in the system.

Can someone point me to the root of the problem here or is this another 2555 surprise?

The first thing to check in these situations are the hydraulic couplers that connect the tractor to the FEL.
Perhaps one is not fully engaged. You could even try swapping the lift hoses for the bucket hoses to see if the problem changes which would be a clue.
Just do this temporarily as it is an unsafe way to operate as it is not intuitive once you are used to the normal operation
Sorry I cannot offer more

I had thought of the same thing and I checked the couplers already, all of them are fully connected and there are no leaks. I do have a small seep on the backhoe but its not even a drip. The other thing to note is this only happens after I've been working the unit for 15 -20 minutes.

Try switching the hoses, lift to tilt vice versa. That should tell you if its a tractor issue or loader issue. Lift is working OK yes??:confused3:

Girret - did you figure out the problem? I have a 2555 HST at the dealer today after the hydraulics failed yesterday.

If your 2555 has a cable operated joystick [ my 2555 HST cab does ], you should check to see if the locking nuts are tight underneath the right floorboard. If the cable locks are not tight, that can allow the cables to slowly work out of adjustment and may do ' funny ' things like you are describing. The operators manual describes how to readjust these cables if they are your problem.
