2555 vs 3550

   / 2555 vs 3550 #11
Post 9 and 10 do a pretty good job summarizing the strengths of each model as far as practical application.

I don't know how much power the drivetrain is designed for, but it makes you wonder if MUSA would ever put a 55 HP engine in the 3550 in the future. Branson has a tractor that is heavier then the 2555 yet a little lighter than the 3550 and it is 55HP (5220R or H). 50 plus HP in what is still considered a compact is starting to blur the line between compact and utility.

Not sure how I missed all these posts and just found them. I am a bit slow I guess. I appreciate everyones input. I use the tractor for hire doing gravel driveways. I currently use my 2538 which does a fine job but getting older and wanting a cab tractor. I think the 3550 may be too much tractor for what I need and the width is an issue. I like the weight but not sure I want to tow the weight for what I do. I need the loader capacity mostly. I loved the looks of the 3550 compared to the 2555. The 3550 is beastly. Maybe too beastly. I have not seen a cabbed model. Is the cab much nicer on the 3550? It seems adequate on the 2555 but not amazing. Certainly appreciate all you folks have told me. I think in the spring I will be making a leap if not sooner.
