Jinma 204
I just turned over the 250 hour mark on my Jinma 204. I bought this tractor slightly used about 40 hours. I have used it non stop on my five acres, brush cutting, drive way for my new barn/garage fel work and general haul a small trailer tidy the property. The few minor problems I have had were easily overcome - dealer has been great. I have the odd drip now and then - but nothing major. I have a smile in my bucket (slight) and know way more now then when I started. My friend bought a new tractor at the same time - well known US brand - and has paid way more in maintenance and repair than I have in the same time. But I must say that I don't think I would have paid the difference for a known brand. My Jinma has started first time everytime except once when a new battery was needed. The only thing I haven't done is snow. Though I get ready for it every year - since the tractor has been here the snow hasn't.
Cheers to all
John

I am approaching 200 hours on my Jinma 224....past routine maintenance and oil changes, I have only needed a few roll pins. It is very reliable and my first tractor. It does the work of 20 men easily. I do not know why I waited so long to purchase a tractor.

Used my 204 for a few hours yesterday and noticed 425 hours on the meter. I've owned it for just over 3.5 years. I'm in Wisconsin and with a tank heater it always starts right up. No significant problems that I couldn't fix myself. I'm very pleased with my tractor.

If you've read any of my (many) threads, you'll see that I've used my Kama KM554 for some incredible tasks on rugged rural property. I've got over 400 hours of severe punishment on the meter. But much more than that when you consider the meter records according to engine rpm, and not actual hours worked at less than full rated rpms.

Other than an electrical problem when I first got it (bad grounds), I've had great performance from it. No breaking of the engine or drive train, no leaks and it's in 4wd ALL the time. The only repairs I've had were things I busted due to improper use, which would occur to any tractor used under the same conditions. Best thing is that I could do all those nasty things and not worry about ruining an expensive machine. I figure I can wear it out but I guess I'm wrong? It's more than paid for itself two times over already. I've also taken the time to modify and upgrade it's capabilities for what I need to do. I do all my own maintenance, and fluid changes at regular intervals to keep it running strong.

I am so happy with my tractor I could spit.:)
Now I'm looking to get a smaller Jinma for my wife, since justifying it is a no brainer with her.

My KAMA TS254C has more than 300 hours and I only got just over a year ago. I have a 12" 3pt drill, 60" backblade, toothbar on the Koyker loader and a middle buster.

This machine has been through **** and back. Everything that has gone wrong was operator cuased, including a new clutch at 25 hours. I run my tractor HARD. Other than being cold-blooded, no complaints.

I have moved many tons of snow last winter and the little 4WD KAMA is a beast.

Rob, you know that I have a Jinma and I am pleased with it, I have around 270 hours and have had it for 3 years. I would take a serious look at the DF's were I to buy today, lots more features. My thoughts anyway.

Bill,
Can't disagree with you there.
From what I've seen, DF is definitely a step ahead in the quality and make up of their tractors. On the other hand, have you seen the new Jinmas? Looks like they've stepped up to the plate and made lots of improvements as well. I'd love to buy a new DF, but you know we are not well off like you and Linda are, so saving a few bucks is important to us.

Rob, I'll see if Linda wants to give you a loan, I don't want to, you're too hard on stuff (although you're very good a making repairs). he he
