I have narrowed my search down to the Mahindra 2615 HST with a loader and a New Holland TC 30 HST with loader. Tractor and FEL prices were, 2615- $14,500 and the TC 30- $ 16,171. Are these prices in line with what you have paid for your compacts. I think the Mahindra is a fine machine, and save 1,500, but I am worried about parts availibility down the road. That makes me lean towards the New Holland. I would apprieciate any comments from owners of the 2615 or the TC 30. Thanks in advance.

Recently I was talking to a current Farmtrac dealer who previously sold Ford/New Holland. I asked his opinion as to why Ford sold out. He replied that the answer was simple economics. Ford lost money on tractors for years. I then asked how Fiat, now the mother company of New Holland was doing. He responded that they lost millions last year. I can't remember the actual number he quoted. Then I asked why Mahindra or Farmtrac was able to make a profit and break into the American market. His response was a simple question. How much do you think an employee in India makes? That was a good question. I don't know the actual answer, but I got his point. I think that the tractor you are looking at comes from South Korea, but I'd guess they don't make much either. Long story short. Mahindra is not going anywhere but up.

All the 15 series Mahindra tractors are made by Mitsubishi, they have been around quiet some time . The 2015 was sold as a Case Ih 1120 around 1990 and as a cub cadet 7205 just prior to being picked up by mahindra. They are still sold as mitsu's in Asia and England. Thought this information may come in handy, as I am in the process of purchasing a 2015HST myself.

rancher65, I just bought a 2615 gear with ML106 loader for $12,675 which was the best price offered of three Mahindra dealers. Hydro is usually about $1,000 more. Prices tend to vary in different parts of the country. A little more shopping could be beneficial to you. It sure wouldn't hurt to see. As was previously mentioned the 2615 is a Mitsu made in Japan and is the same as the Cub Cadet 7265 in hydro and 7260 in gear drive. Reliability and durability concerns are positives in all the research I've done before making my decision. Like you I looked at the TC30 although in gear drive, and found it to be a nice machine. No negatives in the reliability or durability department for the TC30. Initially the Mahindra's lower price was attractive but upon closer examination I liked the folding ROPS vs. the TC30's fixed. The 2615 shifter position in the gear model is on the left fender vs. the dash for the TC30 gear. The fuel tank location behind the seat on the 2615 is good for me vs. the front under hood mount on the TC30. I have three Mahindra dealers within an hours drive and a total of five within two hours. I think Mahindra is here to stay and I don't believe parts and service will be a problem. There are some factors in my decision, although some of it is very subjective. I really don't think you could go wrong with either machine. Good luck, enjoy your shopping.
