I'm just back inside from my first hour of seat time on my first tractor. What a beast, I'm very impressed. I pulled an Agri Five mower behind me and mowed down mesquite, brush, weeds, and Blackeyed Susans if they got in the way. I moved here in 98 and this is the first time some of this area -- it just outside the pasture and along a driveway -- has ever been mowed.
One thing I noticed right away is that the front end is too light with that mower attached. Wheels come off the ground if I start to quickly, or sometimes when I am going up an incline. It's particularly noticable when I try to turn. Is that what NASCAR drivers call push? The wheels turn but the tractor doesn't want to.
Anyway, it seems to me the best solution would be to get some counterweights to hang off the front. But then I am a complete newbie and I guess the smartest thing I can do is ask for advice.
Thanks,
Papa Joe
