Loader 2620 fel won't go into float position

2620 with just 16 hours won't go into float position. This happened also at 2 hours and I thought it was new and maybe just a piece of dirt in the valve somewhere. Today while moving some dirt the loader would not lower for awhile and after that would not go into float position. The first time this happened I took the hyd lines off and with the tractor not running moved the loader control all ways and it finally went it the float position. I then hooked the hyd lines up and it worked. I'll try that again, but does any one have any ideas on what would cause this?

Be rough with it; it takes a significant push forward to get to float position!

Are your quick connects pushed completely together?

Yes, quick connects are together and if I push any harder on fel control lever I'll bend it.

16 hours sounds like it is under warranty. I'd call the dealer.

The 2620 has a known issue with the valve. Mine had to be replaced at 20 some hours. Dealer mentioned that this was a problem with the valve. Once fixed I have not had any more issues!

Called my dealer and he is going to pick up my tractor and repair or replace loader valve under warranty. Dealer said they have had a few with this problem over several years. Just my luck if something has a problem it will be the one I buy.

But it sounds like you have a great dealer. I'd be thankful, all machines will have something that needs repair. Yours should be simple, I am surprised they did not field fix it.

Hopefully you've got it fixed. One other thing to try if it happens again is I've had the FEL joystick lockout get bumped and be half closed, which limits the motion and makes it hard to get it into float. The lock is at the base of the lever and easy to see if its half locked.

Dealer picked up tractor and fixed the problem and delivered it the next morning. I called the dealer and he said something was loose in the valve and out of adjustment.
