Has anyone had any problems with the 2638.?.. Ive looked at masseys and new hollands but I really like the mahindra 2638 I looked at yesterday. I feel like I am getting a lot of tractor for the money. Masseys are similar in price but the FEL capabilities are weaker then Mahindra. Thanks for the help

The 2638 (and 2538) are some of the most popular models of Mahindra sold. I very rarely hear anything negative about them. They are built by TYM for Mahindra but with the Mahindra desgined engine.

Bought mine 2/25/19. Only have 25 hours on it so far. Had a small hydraulic leak that was just tightening a fitting. It pays to shop around, I have three dealers close by. Best price saved 3k. Also saved 1k buying three or more implements . So far completely satisfied.

I am on my second Mahindra. I put ~200 hrs on my Max28 then upgraded to the 2538 and have almost 150 hrs on mine with no issues. Good capable tractors. My neighbor has a Kubota 3901 and I work circles around him. As you mentioned other brands similar HP have similar prices but the Mahindra is heavier and lifts more. Also look at the frame. The Mahindra has a bigger frame underneath as well.

your right I was impressed by how much beefier the mahindra looks and the FEL capabilities are off the charts compared to other brands in that HP range.. I am glad to hear that none of you guys have had issues. Thanks again for the input

I bought my 2638 in December of 2018, it was an '18 model. I have about 35 hours on it with no issues. Moved a lot of snow this winter. I've used the backhoe a couple of times to re-route water this spring.

Keep in mind you are ALWAYS going to see post from people who have something to complain about no matter what brand or even product. It's far less common for someone to take to a forum just to share good experiences. That said, take the complaints with a grain of salt. You don't know how they maintained (or didn't) their machine or how they used (or abused) it. For every complaint there are many who have no issues.

Just remember, to reach those lift capacities you'll need more ballast than just loading the rear tires. There are many threads and posts on here about building a concrete ballast block for the 3 point hitch.
