I just found one of the pins on the lower pivot point to have a broken leg (the part that keeps the pin from rotating). I ordered a new pin and am having quite the time trying to removed the old pin!!! Anyone have any ideas on how to get the broke pin out???

I suspect the reason the retainer broke to begin with is the pin is siezed in the eye of the cylinder. Other than the "heat and beat" method, you might try a sawzall with a metal cutting blade. Cut the pin on each side of the eye, lift the cylinder out and deal with the three pieces one at time.

Harry,

Very sound advice! It does seem odd that the pin would have frozen in less that a year, but if it was never greased/anti-seized to start with, makes sense.

I am going to try the "heat and beat" and go from there!

Thanks!

Ok, I did it! It only took plenty or grease, heat and the sledge hammer. New pin installed with anti-seize grease.

Thanks for your help!
