All that I think of is my former landscaping employer's favorite saying... "Don't put a $40 tree in a $2 hole." Luckily I keep extra spray bottles around.
Yet it seems to be a sign of the times, the only decent packaging is on aspirin bottles and items which you would rather NOT fight your way into.

One of my girls tail curls up so tight that it causes hot spots. 2 Things that I have found to be effective is "Vick's" ( Best ) & "Blue Kote". it works well if you dont mind the blue spots. Very inexpensive & effective. "Blue Kote" is available at feed stores. I use it on myself at times. Good stuff.

Thank you, that's good information to know.
When I first noticed it yesterday I thought it was mange, and I was POed at myself for not noticing it. By the time I drove 45 minutes to the local Aubuchon's where their animal guy really knows his stuff, the rash had changed and he was able to tell me what it was when I told him it smelled like dead meat.

Why is it that things like this only happen on the weekends, when my vet is closed? :D

I had a dog that had hot spots and was told by my vet to get a cheep dog food because it was caused by the food I was giving it. The hot spots went away and never returned. I think I was feeding purena dog chow and went to what was cheep.

Not a fix for every hot spot scenario, but confectioners sugar works well too.
