Hi, I have a 15 year old 2810 that started smoking badly a couple Weeks ago, heavy White/Gray Smoke, smells like Fuel. I cracked the injector nuts and the first 2 almost stalled the engine, the back injector had no effect when I cracked the nut, so I figured it was a bad injector? Today I replaced the injector and it did not make a difference!!! I don稚 believe it痴 running on all 3 Cylinders and doesn稚 heat up at all. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Gelling cold fuel.......

Btw- a diesel makes almost no heat when it doesn’t have a load on it.

When this startedI noticed my Son had run it real low on fuel, so I cleaned out thee fuel filter, checked and cleaned the air filter, and filled it up with Kero and Diesel 50/50. Why would all signs lead to a bad injector and then when replaced it did nothing? im missing something here, Glow plug?

If this engine has a CAV DPA inj. pump on it.??
That pump is a rotary pump & has 1 pumping unit for all the cyl.'s, so its unlikely to be the inj. pump..
{inline pumps have individual adjustments for each cylinder}
& u say u swapped injectors & still the problem remained on THAT cyl.??
Sorry to say but a compression test is in order.. at the very least u should remove the valve cover & check the valves & push rods..
Might be something as simple as a valve setting or bent rod..?? let us know how u make out..

Oh boy, that's way above my level! One more thing, I hear a lot of air blowing on the right side of the engine, I need to look into this before I take it to an Expert.

This story keeps getting better....

Blowing out the side of the engine, not firing on one cylinder, sounds like a head gasket gone. Have you checked the water colorant level and checked theres no water in the sump oil. One thing for sure, its not going to get better without a bit of help, but could get a lot worse.

Ok, I went out and fired it up again, something was telling me it is a fuel problem?? While it was running I popped the radiator cap and it was blowing coolant out the cap! This was enough for me to drop the blower and bucked and pull it into the garage and start the disassembly of the upper end. As soon as I pulled the valve cover and it was coated with a milky coating my first suspension was getting clearer. Soon I pulled the head and with coolant on the back piston and a crack in the gasket confirmed I have a bad head gasket! Now to find new gaskets, thanks all for the input

So much for being "something simple" but at least u found the problem.. lets hope.
Do yourself a small favor & measure the thickness of the gasket.. then measure the new one..

I would guess that the old gasket would be thinner than the new gasket because it has been compressed after being installed, fired and run through countless heat cycles........how will those measurements help the OP?

Thanks in advance for the schooling! :eek:
