If it cranks and won't start, we need to look at fuel issues. We assume a strong battery, but that should be tested.
If it won't crank at all but lights are good and strong and stay strong when trying to crank, look at safety switches. If lights go dim when trying to crank, look at low voltage or dirty cables. If lights go out immediately when trying to crank, yet were bright before turning the key, look at dirty connections for the battery, both positive and negative cables, and on both ends of each cable.
The most common no crank issue is a safety switch out of adjustment or broken, or simply not engaged because the PTO is actually still on. Also, folks will run over some branches and bend the bracket that holds the neutral switch for the HST pedal, then it will not start. On a Max28 HST, that is below the right floor board.
The Max might be a Max28, but not a Max 2810, as that was never made. If you have an older Mahindra 2810, then it is not a Max. Either way, welcome to TBN.

yup, check to see it the PTO is off. It should be to start.
