Mahindra 2810
Hi all, new to this site, seems very helpful with all the threads I've read. I just bought a used 2810 with FEL and changed all fluids. I've noticed that after changing the antifreeze I have some dripp out of the overflow tube at the top of the radiator after the engine warms up. Is this just from overfill or do I have a pressure issue? I did replace the thermostate (from Mahindra) and a new radiator cap (13lb not from Mahindra). Thanks in advance.

Is it dripping from the surge tank (expansion tank)? Or is it dripping from the hose leading to the surge tank?

Come to think of it, does your tractor have a surge tank? My 7520 does.

no surg tank just has overflow tube comming off the cap spout and running down the side of radiator and allows the overflow to drip on the ground.

To the best of my recollection the 2310 and 2810 do not have coolant recovery tanks. Some fluid will escape until the air gap reestablishes itself. As the coolant expands and contracts it has to have somewhere to go. It should stop after a couple of usages. If it does not, there may be other issues. Hope this helps! Scott

Thanks Scott, I was/am hoping that is all it is. I got the tractor out last night for @ an hour and used it and had no problems. I've never owned a small compact before. The smallest thing I've ever owned was an old WD45. When I changed the antifreeze in it (WD45) I don't remember ever having any overflow comming out of the overflow tube. Just didn't want to do something to ruin my investment. When checking the manual for the Mahindra it just says to top off the coolant after running. I know on the newer cars/trucks, their is a special way you have to put in the antifreeze to prevent the "air bubbles" and I didn't know if these new compacts were the same or not. Also being your a Mahindra guy, do these things run noisy at idle. This one seems noisy (think detroit) at idle but seems to quiet down at higher RPM. I'm only compairing to Kobota and New Holland being that I have only ran those two compacts and compairing it to Mahindra. The fellow I purchased it from said it always ran that way. The unit runs great, no smoke once warmed up, and has good power. I pushed some heavy branches from an old dead tree and had no smoke when I needed power. I was really impressed with the tractor. Thanks. Rod

Rod, Welcome to the "Mahindra Family". Almost all of the smaller 10 series Mahindra tractors are a little noisy at idle, especially cold starting. I don't know if that is just a feature of that series of Daedong engines (some diesel engines are by nature more moisy than others). GM's early attempts at automotive and ligh truck diesel engines were almost unbearable. If you want to experience a noisy engine, try out the larger Yanmar 2 cyl tractors. Just my $.02 Scott

Thanks for the info. Makes me a little more at ease knowing that they have a little clatter. I hope to get years of enjoyment out of this little thing. BRING ON THE SNOW!!!

Well I finally got to get the tractor out and played for several hours on Friday. I dug a trench to run electrical service to a shed of mine and used the tractor for several hours during the process. She ran like a champ, never once showed any sign of wanting to overheat. I'm thinking I just may have found a good deal on a great tractor. Really looking forward to using the heck out of her this summer! :D
