Developed a strange problem with my 2810 HST brakes, they do not want to fully release when the unit is hot (meaning at operating temperature). Not an issue when it's cool. I added some pullback springs which helps, but even this will not fully release after extended use, plus I shouldn't need the springs anyway.

I'm going to take it back to the dealer (never been back with about100 hours) and ask him about it. Fortunately I've got a good knowledgeable dealer. Wanted to find out if others have had similar problems before I did and what was the fix.

Thanks guys.

hmmmm............just a shot in the dark here. How is the parking brake actuated on these tractors? Could it partially be engaged?

Nope, the parking brake mechanism is easy to see and does not play into this. Problem seems to be fixing itself with a liitle use and the pullback springs. With a hydro the brakes just don't get much use, maybe just needed a little help getting freed up.

I haven't experienced the problem but, I've only got 44 hours so far & always forget the steering brakes are there to be used.

Took the pullback springs off and did 8 hrs of FEL and boxblade, no problem. Patted myself on the back for taking care of this minor problem myself.

Bush hogged yesterday and symptom returned after 30 minutes of operation, park it for 30 minutes and free release restores. Gotta have something to do with the heat generated by the PTO load. Make me wonder if the tranny is getting too hot. Guess it's time for a trip to the dealer.

I can get hold of a infrared hand held thermometer. Anyone got an idea what the case temperature should be? Makes explaining things to the service tech a lot easier when you can talk facts instead of "I think it feels like this".

I still haven't had a problem in 77hrs of use, but I still rarely use the brakes. The hydro stops it in its tracks & I just don't use the steer brakes much at all. Let us know what you find.

I haven't had any problems like that with my 2810HST yet.

But I have noticed that when I put the finnish mower on the guage will go up three quarters of the way.
It doesn't go any higher and everything seems to work fine.
But I sure watch it.
