Ya, I know this has been done to death, but is there a domestic equivalent to the JX0710 oil filter? I thought I found a NAPA... the threads were close, but no dice.

Or... is there an adapter to convert? Sorry, I have searched this to death.

Not sure but my 2003 Jinma 284 uses a Fram PH3950. Been using it for over 850 hours with no issues.

Here are the filters I use on mine.

Air= Purulator A42019
Oil= Fram PH3950
Fuel= Fram P6503

I don't remember the specific engine model but there was one of the vendors on this site that made a oil filter adapter (I think then it would take the standard "Ford filter", anyone else remember this? Who was it. bjr

I use a Napa Gold 1519 I think(will check when I get home). It requires that the threaded sleeve in the filter boss be unthreaded, and extended a few turns as the napa filter and most domestic filters are more concave in the thread area. The center threaded section on mine was plenty long enough to have full thread engagement into the filter and housing.

Thanks Slammer, you are correct with the Napa 21315. They only had the Gold 1315 version in stock, but same thing.

I always thought the thing was metric, but nope. After your post I put the calipers to it and confirmed 3/4-16.

Ron, though the problem is solved, just for your info, on my tractor, there is no threaded sleeve... it is all one cast and machined part. So your idea, while a very good one, would not have helped.

Thanks for the help.

That is the tough part on these machines. Mine is metric, 20x1.5 threads. That is why I use the PH3950 filter. There is some variance between years, ect.

My 2000 AgraCat 2940super is essentially a Jinma 254 clone -- it has the Yangdong Y385 engine. I made four trips to the auto parts store until I finally used some extra brain cells to actually bring the old Fram filter to the store for an exact match. YES - I got the same part number as the Fram but the filter was different! The threads were the same but the seal ring was waaaay smaller in diameter. We kept checking crossmatches of crossmatched filters and they were all oddball. FINALLY as a last resort, we dove into the Bosch filter book and BAM -found one. I believe it was a Bosch DistancePlus 3312 ($14.00!!!!). To say the least I bought two of them. Use those 40% coupons and save even more...

I have a 284 and most of the above filters did not work. I use a filter that fits my Jeep Wrangler and it fits perfectly. PH50 is the number. I have a shelf full of oil filters. The filter from a Prius works too, but they are tiny. What I've found is the threads are very short on the base and contact is hard to match. The Jeep filter has protruding threads on a dome at the top of the filter. Other filters that are domed have inward facing threads and only connect at the base of the nipple rather than full thread contact. Some of the above mentioned filters will go on, but I've had them come off while running. Best part is they are readily available at Walmart
