Hi All

my tractor 293 hydrostatic loses power going forward up a hill and will bog out , when I back down the hill and the engine RPM`s come back up I can use the tractor on the flat surface going forward or back . I can back the tractor up the same hill with no problem it is just in forward motion going up a steep grade which I have never had this problem before. Has anyone else had this problem and what was the fix?

Would appreciate any help. Thanks JIM

Check for water in your fuel filter bowl.. Has happened to me 2 times in that last year and a half.

I agree with myyaz33. I had the same symptoms. Drained the tank, a new filter and fresh fuel and ran like champ. I also had to post here to figure it out.
Good luck hope this takes care of it for you.

New fuel filter. Make sure the fuel cut off is to the left or right.

Hi all
The problem turned out to be the fuel gelled up from the severe cold added some 911 and all is good
Thanks for the help. JIM

We always top off our fuel storage tank late in the fall after the local supplier has switched to the winter blend. This often eliminate the fuel gelling problem. If you use a storage tank you will want to put a can of the 911 in that also.
