I am wonder why a 2pt hitch tiller wont fit a three point. if you can convert to 3pt could you not just remove something and use 2pt hitch tiller ..

You can remove your lift arms and use the 2 point. I do it on my personal tractor.

You can only use a 2pt tiller on a tractor that has the 2pt bracket that matches the tiller.Sometimes when adding a 3pt hitch to a tractor that came with 2pt tiller, it is necesary to remove 2pt bracket as it is in the way of lower arms or sway limiters. Most 2pt tillers can be converted to 3pt ,but its really not cost effective as it requires fabricating brackets for lower arms and top link.Eugene is right that you can remove lower arms and use 2pt, but only if your tractor still has 2pt bracket on it.

I have been dealing with grey market tractors including Yanmar and Shibaura and I'm finding that in my area when people can't put anything other than the 2 pt tiller on the back of their tractor they are frustrated and not as interested in purchasing the tractor. I live in an area with larger farm tractors and most of the commonly offered (and often cheaper) equipment for smaller tractors is mounted to a standard Cat 1 or larger 3pt hitch setup. I am converting tractors for about $300 per tractor including materials and labor. I am finding it to be almost a custom job on each tractor as they have subtle differences in rear castings and threaded hole locations. I hope to finish one soon to take pics with the digital camera so I can post it on the home made stuff link on TBN. I happen to have welding equipment so I think it would definitely be cost effective to convert to 3 pt since the implements are cheaper and by far more available.

am I understanding you correct ..its cheaper to convert a 2pt tiller to 3pt than to buy a 3pt tiller.. I have welding equipment also.. plus a really good farm service bussiness near by

I think he's saying it's cheaper to convert the tractor and buy 3 point implements. The tillers just came with my tractors and I wanted to use them. That's why all the back and forth with me. It's much more convenient to have all 3 point.

My F16D was originally 2pt. but was converted to 3pt with 2pt left intact.....It did come with 2pt tiller which is not that big of deal to hook back up. Just remove 3pt. links and hook tiller to 2pt links, then when done remove tiller and hook 3pt.links back up. For the few times a year you use the tiller it's not worth converting it to 3pt....JMHO
