3 1/4" X .131 Ring Shank Hot Dipped Galvanized Framing Nail, Are they available?

21 degree, plastic collated, full round head.

I've spent over an hour on the web trying to find these for my new Hitachi NR83A3 nailer.

I've got the smooth shank but wanted to try ring shank.

I have not found a site where the search function on the site finds them.

Any pointers?

I've not seen ring shank and galvanized together, usually one or the other. Same for cement coated.

Fastenal has them in 3 inch length and .120 thickness

McMaster Carr has them in stainless steel the length you want, but I'm not sure about the thickness. Their website says 0.1 inch

Thanks for the quick replies guys.

Lowes carries Hitachi brand in 3" format (ring shank, plastic collated, 21 degree, hot dip galvanized).

I'm just building a 12x20 shed that is not in a high wind or shake prone area, and doesn't require permit nor inspection. The "design" specs 16d common, but a review of several web sites indicated 12d (size limit of my nailer) galvanized is used by many framers.

Based on past excellent experience w/ ring shank (16d galvanized, hand nailed) I just wanted to get them again for my new toy.

The only reason to used galvanized nails is if you are using pressure treated wood.

Ring shanked nails have better holding power then smooth nails and are used instead of screws on decks and docks. No real reason to use them on framing a building.

3 1/4 inch nails will penetrate two 2x's and the point will stick out the other side. This gives you maximum holding power since the point has no holding power. These are what I use when framing.

This is what I use on fencing and pole buildings. I figure $75/1000 depending on how much I order. They're twice the nail as paslode or anyone else. Everybody uses the cheap nails from Lowe's/HD and customers wonder why the boards are falling off the fence in 5 years. Alot more money but trust me its worth it.

The gun requires 21 degree, the Maze nails are 20 degrees, anybody know if they will work?

They'll work. I use them in my Hitachi NR90 and its 21*.
