.3 amps is how many watts?

I've looked on internet for calculator. Thus far, not been able to find one.

Trying to add up the wattage used in the bathroom so I can get some prewiring done prior to my bro in law "checking it out" for me (he's electrician).

I don't want to infringe on his help too much so I'm planning on dividing 2 circuits up in the bathroom on "my" time so that I only use HIS time to double check.

Volts X Amps = Watts

Assuming you're using 110 volts you're looking at about 33 Watts /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

That's what I thought (and used) but it seemed WAY too small of number for a bathroom exhaust fan???? I would have expected more watts used.

That seems about right, half of a 60 watt bulb. Probably a small fan?

The big electrical loads in a bathroom are the things that make heat.

Electric heaters, if you have one, and electric hair driers.

If the bathroom is big enough that you think you might ever use his and her hair driers in there at the same time, put the convenience outlets for them on different circuits.

Other than that, it is really difficult to use enough electricity in a bathroom to overload two circuits. The usual circuit breaker is 20 A, which is 2400 watts at 120 volts. That many watts in a small room will make it very warm, very fast.

Most of the energy a light bulb uses goes into heat.
