Can my 1552 pull a 3-bottom plow? I was able to pull a 2-bottom plow with my 1433...

I would say yes and no. It all depends on the soil and how large the plows are. If you have a 3 bottom plow try it and if it works keep using it. If is doesnt you know your answer. I have a 43hp tractor with R4's on it and have tried to pull a 3 bottom and it pulls it but I run out of traction. If you have the R1 ag ties I would think you would be able to pull a 3 botton 12in plow and maybe a 14in but no bigger. Hope this helps.

I should have specified a little more: My currect tractor has 52 HP with ag tires. My old one was 33 hp with Ag tires and could pull a double bottom through the soil I have.

If the 33 horse pulled fine thats 16hp per shoe.Add on 1 more and 16 horses you get 48 horses so your 52 horse will handel it git r done!

Probably will work. I pull a 2 bottom with my 1533.

A lot of it is about weight as opposed to horsepower. You have to be able to get it going fast enough to flip. If you have to flip uphill, I'd be a little leary, but if its good and flat you should be OK. You can always resell the plows if they dont work out....

You gettting these used, or already have them, or buying new?

If you think you can resell and at least get your money back, then I'd say go for it. If it's someone you know, maybe you can try them out first. Good Luck!!

Loaded tires

With your loaded tires and R-1s, your tractor should easily pull a three bottom plow. If it is a good plow that doesn't have a bent beam and that's set up right. I have pulled a MF model 66 14" three bottom for 5 years through 15 yr old sod, and clay with flint rocks the size if a persons head with my MF1440.
