3 cytl perkins oil galley plug help

so I've got a industrial 20 and its got a 3 cyl perkins gas. It had a nasty oil leak and less than stellar oil pressure so I pulled the engine and sure enough the oil galley plug was leaking. SO I've got a new plug but I'm not really sure how to get the old one out. slide hammer? it looks as if it was driven in from the front of the engine or the plug was driven in backwards. I'm going to include 2 pictures.

you can't really see the silver arrow I drew quite as good in the second picture.. looks more like a silver line.. but it's there on the left side

Drill a small hole, screw a good size sheet metal screw into the hole and pull, better if you could us a slide hammer on the screw but it should come out with a bit of wiggling......Mike
