John Deere 4120
I have a John Deere 4120 Hydrostatic that was bought new in 2005. Just recently the rear 3-Point arms started lowering really slow. They work fine when you raise them, it just takes a long time for the pressure to bleed off when you lower it. Even when the brush hog or box blade is on the back, it takes several minutes for the lowering arms to go all the way down. With nothing attached, I can lift the 3-Point quick disconnect up freely and it drops freely, until it reaches the point to where it was already sitting, so there's nothing in a bind.

What could be causing this and what can I do to fix it? Could a valve be clogged? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First thing I'd check would be the Rate of Drop knob. Should be on the panel below the seat, between your legs.

Thanks, Roy, that was it! Now I feel like a ******. I had looked for some kind of an adjustment, and seen that knob, but thought it was the knob for the seat. Well, I'm just glad it was something simple and I figured it out before I tore into it! Thanks again.
