I am going to get started building a boom sprayer. Question is I see TSC has horizintal leg tanks and applicator tanks, would the horizintal leg tank work for a sprayer? What would be the difference? I am planning on a 65 gallon tank. Thanks for any advice

I would think as long as the tank has the necessary ports it would be fine. Many sprayers use the horizontal leg tanks. I think the reason is it saves having to have or need rounded cradle for the tank.

Why 65 gallons? Is it for a small field? Depending on what you will be using it for consider have a port for hand held sprayer. That is great if doing a lot of spot spraying. If you do have plenty of hose on it so you can park and walk a few feet. Have a neighbor who put a water faucet on his. If you do such be sure you do not use that hose for water.

I also used the TSC 65 gallon tank and the sprayer has held up pretty well. You can click on my signature link to see how I put ours together. I'm getting ready to assist my neighbor in putting one together for his New Holland.

If I can help further just shout

I will order the 65 gal. horizintal leg tank. Wasnt sure if the applicator tank had baffles in it, or there would be some other reason. Thanks for the great info on your link pine ridge.

How many acres do you plan to cover? We normally put 5-10 gallons of water per acres so if you use the 65 it would only cover 6-13 acres. Just a suggestion of course, but it will depend on the tractor you will be using.

If you plan to spray quite a few acres, you may consider a bigger tank.

Ours is filled twice for 6 acres. but it gives me a reason to go back to the fridge for another beer.

Glad the link helped you.

That is a very good point of course. I normally carry a cooler with me, although I rarely drink anymore.

We have about 400 acres now that was once farmed so we have a 250 gallon tank. I plan to re-do this spray rig this spring because I really could use it.

My hay fields are 2@7 & 2@10 acres with 50 acres in pasture. I would use a 50 hp tractor.

Now that I'm a little older I don't drink anymore, I don't drink anyless either.

I'm helping a neighbor put a sprayer together. He'll be using a 120 gallon tank.
