3-Point Hitch 3-point hitch is lifting ...all the time

I am a tractor rookie with a rookie question. I have just bought a YM180D. I attached a finishing mower to it and when I started the engine, the mower raised. I lowered the mower with the lever, but when I released the lever, the mower raised back up. The slow return and stop valve are open. What am I missing??? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

If you have not found the problem by now try this:

Similar problem, different model. Ended up pulling fall rate valve assembly, plunger, spring and cleaned - replaced "0" rings on this and hyd pressure control (big knob under seat front).
Apparently pressure is by-passing you hyd control valves and trash or debris is causing interference with the valve
rendering the valve to limited operation..
Aslo cleaned suction line screen (filter) and replaced hyd fluids.
Sorry I did all three operations at the same time and cant tell you which one speccificaly created the prolem, but I suspect the fall rate valve as it was rusty-dirty and looked too be never serviced before.
