On my b7610 with 58hrs 3 point hitch has rapid leak down.I now have a 350-400 lb. aerator mounted on it and it will go down about 1/2 inch per min.And of course the mower does the same thing. Is there any kind of adjustment for this. The lever is in the middle position, not up or down.
Had this tractor since July, didn't even know the loader had a float position until I read a earlier post about this. When you push forward on the joy stick and it clicks ,you leave it there in the forward position ,right?
thanks,

Tony. just in case you didn't read about it, the round knob between your legs in front of the seat is the controller for your 3ph. Tighten it and it holds it up and won't let it drop. Loosen it and you control the rate of drop. If you already know this, forget I said anything.

Did you check the knob hz293 mentioned?

Is it leaking down at that rate when the tractor is running - or when you shut it off?

As for the floater position - all the way forward - then a little more, it will "click"... you hold it there, it stays in float - you remove it from there, the loader then begins to press down more and will lift the front end. I don't know what others do, but I go to float just BEFORE the loader contacts the ground - so it "floats" down the the material... otherwise, if you wait for contact, you are actually pushing down... and if there is any negative angle on your bucket, you are not starting from the pile, but rather under the pile.

Thanks hz293 & fishpick.
Thanks for clearing me up on the hitch and float.I thought the knob under seat controled the speed it went up and down.I'm playing with it now to see if it quits going down.its been going down with engine running or shut down.I'II let if I figured it out.
Thanks tony3542

Used it alot last week-end,the only way it doesn't leak down is when you have the valve fully closed. Then to move a impliment you have open valve. On the international I had before the 7610 that valve mainly controled the speed of three point hitch.I could leave the three point hitch up for a month with the lever in the middle and it never leaked down no matter how open or closed the valve was.Looks like I might have a cylinder leaking.

That little knob is primarily to adjust the rate of descent on the attachments, not to keep them up, although it will also do that when closed. But as you found out, it won't go down at all when closed.

Slow descent is common with any 3-point hitch, but 1/2" per minute seems excessive. Also, most tractors will automatically correct the descent when the engine is running, assuming that the 3-point is the position control type. In other words, when the 3-point hitch settles too much, it will automatically go back up again, but I suppose it won't do this if you don't have the position control type 3-point.

It seems to me that something internal is leaking through faster then it should if it settles this fast.

On my L4400 the 3pt leaks down only when the engine is off. With the engine on, there is no appreciable leakdown at all. With it off, things go down fairly quickly but I haven't measured how much. The FEL leaks down when the tractor is off too but its super slow, guessing an inch in 6 hours or so.

I don't think there is any practical drawback to this as I always drop the 3 pt all the way when the tractor is off anyway.

If the 3pt leaked down while running the tractor, then that is a problem.

N80 - I agree - that's why I asked if it was when the tractor was on or off... For example, my BX24 - if left at idle for a while - greater than 15 min - the weight of the BH might[/] leak down such that instead of it pushing on the transport pin - it is pulling on it - we are talking like 1/8" here... so, if the thing is leaking down when running at more than an idle at the rate of 1/2" or more - call the dealer.

my b7500 does not leak down when operating. Slow leak down when shut off...but not as quickly as you describe.

my 7610 (160 hours) leaks down as you describe, just not quite as fast. I have approx 300# of weight on my rear 3pt to balance my loader. The only way i've been able to keep this from happening is to shut off the knob (as suggested by others).

I've complained about this to several dealers who all say that this is normal for the 7610.
