3-Point Hitch 3 point hitch problem will not lift

Have Mahindra 2816 just 180 hours.

3 point hitch will not lift.

Have tried moving the speed control under seat.

The fel seams to work fine. Checked oil and it looks full.

The block switch has not been moved and is set to the S position.

Anyone have any ideas what else to try.

I had the same problem with my 3215 and it was just a loose quick connector, the ones that get hooked up to my backhoe. Don't know if you have the same setup, but it's worth a look. check all of the connects, hopefully it's something simple.

Do you have a rear remote level next to you 3pt. lever? If so, make sure it's in N position.

I had the same thing happen of my 5035. 3 pt suddenly stopped lifting yet the FEL worked fine. Turned out that one of the hydraulic lines in the back which supply fluid to the 3 pt had gotten slightly bent and crimped, thereby impending the flow of fluid. Slightly and carefully pulled it back toward it's original position athough the line was now damaged from being crimped. It immediately corrected the problem enough that I could finish what i was doing and get it to the barn for a repair.

When I bout the tractor I had the dealer add additional remote connectors in the rear and they really screwed up the position of the hydraulic lines. It was just a matter of time until the crank handle on the adjustable RH lift arm got caught on the line and bent it.

Check for a crimped line.

I know the post is quite old but I am curious how it was resolved, I also have a 2816 with the same issue. I have a Woods backhoe mounted with a sub frame so I hardly ever use the lift. It appears to be all mechanical linkage and everything is tight....? Any help is appreciated.

How did you solve the problem? I have the problem again and I do not remember what I did to fix it. I have to start over to get it fixed.

Hello to all,

Pls forgive me for resurrecting this older post but I'm having the same problem.

My 3-point just stopped working, one minute I was adjusting the mounting to attach the Brush Hog and next it wouldn't lift. Funny !

I looked for any linkage that may have come un-done, looked for oil leaking, even manually lifted the arms a few times, check the control flow value, worked the valve a few times in and out... nothing, nothing, nothing... I dislike it when I can't at least see what is wrong.

I have taken off the Seat and under panels, I don't see anything.
I need to get the power washer out and clean things up a little, maybe that will show something.

Anyone have any more info on the ominous 3-Point Hitch Glitch ?
Please post your comments, your stories, anything that might help with my investigation.

To get a Mechanic up to the site it will cost me $100+/hour, not a happy camper on that one !
