I am looking for a 3 point hitch for the rear end of a crawler/loader. It doesn't have to have a power take-off. Who makes this type of unit?

look in an antique tractor magazine.. expecially ones that favor older machines that did not have 3pts.. like some oliver, jd, ih and AC's.. there are aftermarket models.. I'm sure you could adapt one.. or.. in reality.. all you need is a rockshaft, a hyd cyl and 2 upper lift arms, lift links and 2 lower lift arms.

could use oem lower lift arms from a farm store... make the lift links from round stock and make yoke ends with flat stock.

make upper lift arms from whatever heavy plate stock you have, and make the rock shaft spin inside 4 pillow blocks, with a nub mounted on the middle of the rockshaft that then has a sa ( or da if you want down pressure ) cyl on it.. then all you need is the hyd source and appropriate valving... the engineering is easy.. just need the steel and cyl, valve, hoses and hyd source.

these people are usually the ones i see advertised in most tractor magazines for add on 3pt units.

If you live near a kubota dealer, take a look at some of their machines.

I was astounded to see how my friends rig is set up. It has two external cylinders. One under each lift arm with a rockshaft between the two to keep them aligned. would be an easy thing to have down pressure on this system.

Most 3pt hitches I have seen have been extremely heavy duty compared to tractor hitches. This might be due to the severe side forces when turning a crawler. I have never seen one in person but have seen several photos. Here is a photo I saved of a Columbia gas JD 450C dozer set up with what appears to be a factory 3pt to mow extreme hills. 92 JD 450C 3pt re.jpg I think that a simple add on 3pt would crumple under the stresses from a crawler. Could you also provide more information on what you are planning to do with a crawler and a 3pt and what type of crawler you have.
