John Deere 1050
I have two questions that I could use some help on.

First, I have a John Deere 1050 that has a backhoe and FEL. Recently I took the backhoe off, for the first time, to put on a brush hog. The problem is that I cannot get the 3-point hitch to raise or lower. I have looked through the manual and I think I am doing everything correct. Hoses from the backhoe, when it was removed, have been connected together. Hydraulic stop valve is open. I have tried raising the hitch with the draft sensing lever in "Position Control" and "Draft Control". I have adjusted the "speed of drop lever". The FEL works fine and the backhoe worked fine.

Second question. How much weight could my FEL lift. I don't have any paper work on it and have looked through the tractor manual and can't find anything. I am looking at getting some large precast retaining wall blocks that would be set using my tractor.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. I am definetly a tractor rookie so go easy on me.

Do you have a diverter block that needs to be changed back to allow 3pt to work?

Hey Soundguy,

I'm not sure about a diverter box. I think I know what your talking about. The diverter box would be where the hoses come into and the speed of drop lever is??? I have checked the tractor high and low for any levers I may be missing and haven't found anything. I will try again over the weekend.

On a side note I also posted this same question under the "John Deere" forum on this website. Not sure how it all works so I posted the question in two different topic areas. I got three replies in the "John Deere" Thread so I will probably follow that one. If you have time come take a look. Thanks Soundguy.
