I have a hydraulic fluid leak at the back of the 3 point speed adjustment rod where it enters the nut holding it in. A slight seepage of fluid exits around the rod only when operating the 3 point.

Before I try removing the nut, I was hoping someone has experienced it or has some idea what to expect. I hate to make what I hope is a simpe fix into a bigger issue by cranking the nut loose.

Pic attached of the rod and nut.

One thing I have success with in similar situations is to just loosen the nut, re-tighten it, loosen, re-tighten, maybe 3 or 4 times. Just don't over tighten. This has worked for me on leaky fuel injector lines on my old Ferguson and sometimes on various leaking hydraulic fittings elsewhere. May or may not work for you, but it is easy to do, ain't gonna hurt anything and is worth a try.

Thanks cougsfan for the advice. That is how I ultimatley resolved it.
I found a parts book with full schematics on the Internet and was able to see what I was working with inside.
I removed the rod and as you can see in the pic below there is an o-ring at the end, the likely culprit. Being a new tractor with only 12 hours, I didnt expect any wear on the ring and after inspecting it, I decided to clean up the entire rod and ring and reinstall. I did find that some small amounts of paint were on the threads at both ends and thought perhaps some miniscule pieces had made their way to the ring end. So far, no more leaking after reinstall and tightening it good.

While there I noticed a bigger issue, a main hydraulic line was rubbing against a vertical seat support (pic below) and had worn through the plastic cover. Thankfully it had not yet rubbed into the hose. I resolved that.image.jpegimage.jpeg

Thanks again for the thoughts and consideration.

If ever taking that entire Rod out always lower the 3 Point all the way down. Believe me, then you won't be showered with hydraulic fluid. Personal experience.
