Tractor noob here so please excuse what may seem as a silly question to many of you. I plan to buy a flail mower to go with my L3901HST. The 3ph is rated at 900lb at the pins and only 650lb 24" behind the pins. With regard to mounting a flail mower, which number should I go by? The reason I ask is because the mower I'm considering comes in at 800lbs; pretty close to the max. I'm open to all info and suggestions and thank you in advance for any info you can provide!

Where's the center of gravity on the mower?

If it was at the pins (which it is not) you'd be good and have an extra 100lbs to spare. If it's 24" behind pins, you're S.O.L.

The lifting rods can only supply so much force on the lift arms before system goes into relief. From here, maximum lift is a function of the geometry of the distance from where the lift arms rotate on the tractor, to the distance on where the lift arms connect to the lifting rods, to how far the actual load is from this point.

You listed kg not lbs... The Rear lift (at 24") is 1433 lbs (Rear lift at ends:1985 lbs) Don't worry about it!! :D

The loader is rated to 1200lbs & I've had a lot more on that on the 3pt on my old L3200 (same frame & loader as yours). I lifted more than the 3pt hydraulics would lift messing with a 3pt forklift. The forklift hydraulics would lift a half full IBC tote (So 125-150 gallons of water, whatever that weighs), but the 3pt stopped lifting. That was with a Quick Hitch adding 6" & the forklift pushing thing back another 6-8". Oh, and at least 500lbs for the forklift as well.

I don't recall any problems with the front lifting off the ground either & only had the loader on the front, probably forks on rather than the bucket.
