3 point lift Ford 5000

The 3 point lift on my Ford 5000 is stuck in the raised position. I bought it second hand, and on first use it lifted and will now not lower. I believe I am using the position/draft and selection levers as intended. Any ideas?

Not sure of your model but most will have a turn knob between your legs at the base of the seat. It controls the drop rate of the 3ph. It could be closed off. Photo of the area could help...

Also, if you added Ford 5000 in the title, you would attract people familiar with your model. (2 cents)

You'll find out that you can't edit the title!!! You might be better starting a new thread in the ford section.

Did you find the 3ph drop rate knob? I ask this because there lots of other people that the act of getting on and off the tractor, their foot will repetitively bump that knob until it closes...

Teg, sorry for delay. My model has the FLOW control and SELECT valve on the right hand side of the housing. SELECT is closed (no externals) and FLOW is fully anti clockwise which I believe to be maximum rate. I feel there should be a relief valve that would enable manual lower and hydraulic pressure relief.

If your draft control is fully raised I don't think the lift arms will drop. It's that way on my JD and Kubota. Check that.

Also, you can edit the title. Go into edit and then advance and change away.

If your lift arm problem persists, find Soundguy and ask him. he is Mr. Ford around here and knows what he is talking about.

It's been like that forever. Read the post before yours. I change my titles all the time.

Pull the valving in the lift cylinder. You may have apoppet stuck
