3 Point Lift Jumpy

The 3 point lift on my FX 26D jumps about every 8-10 sec. causing the whole tractor to "bounce". Not violently, but still a concern. It seems to happen when it's hot /cold and anywhere in between. With or W/o an implement on the back, does not matter. I haven't torn it apart yet but I'm thinking maybe seals, hyd. relief, safety, or pressure valves. The tractor has abt. 2600 hrs. on her. I geuss its time for some repairs.

How long since you cleaned the hydraulic pickup screeen?

The hydraulic pickup screen and fluid were just changed.

This problem has gone on for abt. 5 yrs. now or ever since we bought it.

The CAPA filter is on there now, will the Wix filter work or is that a bad idea (starving hyd. pump) A Jap FEL is also installed so I'm thinking the filter is all the more important. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

A WIX 51120 replaces the CAPA well. Sounds more like the lift piston rubber oring is bad.

Bruce is on to the problem. Fluid is leaking by and when it jerks is when the system is trying to compensate for the lose.

Hey Thanks Bruce and Brent,
I always appreciate y'alls advice It's very helpful.

Will it take a while to tear the 3 point apart to get to the seal? Sorry, this is the first time I'll be tearing into it.

The tractor also has more than usual bowby, blue smoke thats kind of making it hard to breathe.

I'm not sure if just replacing the rings would do it or maybe pistons and rings, I guess who knows intil it's torn apart.

The tractor seems to have plenty of power even with all the blue smoke. Thanks /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
