1985 Kubota D235 4wd. Happened once before then corrected itself. Today the finish mower went down and won't raise on the 3 pt. The front hydraulics work fine. I have a blade up front and it even lifts the front end. I dialed the speed control all the way closed to open and in between with nothing. I don't have a draft control. Only the one control arm on the right side of the seat for up/down. So, any ideas? Right now my tractor is in the woods just sitting there. If I can't fix this I'll have to remove the mower while it's down and leave it there. Oh fun.

Did you try this? From 2014.
Your symptoms sound very similar to the symptoms I was experiencing with my L5450. My hitch would hunt, or bounce up and down. Also, once my engine was shut down, the hitch would drop from full lift to bottom very quickly with any type of load on the hitch. Replaced the oring on the lift piston. As well as the o-ring on the cover or head to the lift. Works awesome now! $20 in parts and less than 2 hrs labor.

Thanks. I'll need to get a shop manual to figure out where those parts are. First I have to get it out of the woods. That'll be half a day.

Ditto on failed rockshaft piston seal or failed relief valve. I couldn't locate model D235 IN Kubota parts.

Messicks has their parts diagrams in digital pdf's which they have an automatic email to you, takes a few minutes. And there is another on line source, but I don't remember the name so I always go to Messicks.

Can you use a jack or come along to lift your 3 pt arms then chain or ratchet strap them up to get your tractor to where it can be worked on?
I am assuming that lifting those arms will life your mower.

Thanks for all the replies. I was able to get it home in a snow squall this morning. The mower has gauge chains and roller wheels so I was able to back it to a clearing and drive to my shop. I disconnected the mower and it still won't move even with no weight. But, If I move the lever to lift I can grab the lift arms and pull them up and they stay up until I move the lever to lower and they do lower. So, it's appears I'll be tearing in once I thaw out. Oh, and sorry for the typo...it's a L235 4WD. L not D.
