As much timber as I have it's a no brainer I've got lots of limbs to clean up. I've been looking at chippers and a nearby dealer has the 3 point mount chippers. They are Jinma. $1600 is the advertised price. What's the scoop? Any experience with these out there in Tractorland? I've got 23 PTO HP. Is this enough? I'd like a little info before I look at these in person. Thanks, 426DMB

Do a search on here for chinese woodchippers, you will find hours of reading, we have been selling the Jinma 6"woodchipper for a few years, with very few minor problems
we also keep all the parts in stock for them. Let me know if I can help you with any questions

There isn't much going on with a chipper, so the real differences in the most basic models lie in the diameter, thickness and weight of the chipper disc and the number of blades. I would compare sheetmetal gauge as well. I have had good experience with a Salsco chipper.

Take a look at the threads here a week or two ago. I was also asking about chippers and came upon the Jinma as well. I did get some positive feedback on the Jinmas and your price is about right. Where I am I'll have travel about 1.5 hours to get one for about $17-$1800. I have also learned about a general rule of using square roots to calculate the limb size you can chip based on your PTO HP. You should be able to do 4-5" dia limbs with your 23 PTO HP, depending on hardness too. I would imagine a 4" pine would chip much easier than a 4" oak. If I can save the cash up once the tractor gets here (next weekend), I'll probably start doing more research on the Jinma. If you happen to get one, please PM me with the results!
Good Luck
Mark

I appreciate the answers. I feel better informed now. I plan on looking next Saturday. (3/11) In the meantime I'll search out some of those previous threads. 426DMB

I have a Jinma chipper. You need to double check everything when you get it. Run it a while and recheck. After that, it will give you very good service. I still check all the bolts and belts after a few runs. It will amaze you what you can run through it. It is a little tricky feeding the mechanical feed, it probably takes a little more effort than a hyd. feed. I figure the $ diffence makes it worth it.
