Hi all,

I'm kinda new to the tractor world as far as owning one. I did grow up using my dads old Ford diesel model of some sort..

Now I own a gas powered 3cyl Ford of unknown make and model. The # behind the starter is C196835. On the engine block C5NN6015. And on the transmission(?) C5NN7CC6AA. There is no tag under the hood. Can someone please tell me what I have?

The problem I have now is the three point arms are not working. I used the box bade some a couple of months ago but now it won't respond when I pulled the lever up. It has leaked a fare amount of fluid out from setting, it seams from around the PTO shaft. So I added a gallon or so to the rear fill plug, and a quart to the transmission fill (which I can see fluid pumping in a stream when running) Also the last time I used it I had the side tilt adjustment off to fix some stripped threads AND I put in this Whites brand hydraulic fluid stop leak stuff..

Any help will be appreciated

Your rear fill and transmission fill most likely goes to the same reservoir. How did you figure out how much oil needed? Just by feel? A picture of your rig might give some clues. Answers to your questions might be wide and varied depending on what you got.

Lots of tractors have an adjustment that controls the 3pt descent speed. More than once the one on my Kubota's has gotten moved by a "foot fault" by me or my son and the 3pt stops working.
Turning it fixes it.

on a 3 cyl.. hyds and rear are usually common.. tranny is seperate.

OP.. why not look a lil harder and give us the stamped model number right around that US C prefix sn.

check to see if the pump is primed. remove plug ont he 3x5 cover under the seat and crank over and see if oil bubbles out there. if it doesn't.. start her for a second.. expect a geyser when it primes.. then plug her and see if the lift works.. post back.

also.. a pic may help if you don't know how to post the model id number..

IMG_20131106_145845.jpgI checked the fluid level of the two plugs on the rt side behind the brake petals. There was fluid there. I then removed the plug under the seat, started the tractor and nothing came out. Can the pump be primed through there? Btw what
s that other lever under the seat?
Also the other # I found behind the starter is I think 8001B?

There should be one more number there by the starter. That 8001B is likely the date code, and most likely 8D01B. Which the 8 would mean 1968, D is april, 01 is 1st of the month, and B is dayshift.

So we have the date code and the serial #, there should be a third number right there. Might have to scrape some more paint off.

draft control.

I see yellow pait and a foot throttle. Might this be an industrial model too?

post a pic of the front axle when you post that model ID umber.

also. inthe back. on the left side axle trumpet kinda near the pto area.. look for a pipe plug there.. see if it has one.

as for no oil at the plug under the seat.

move up to the pump and look for a plug on it's top side head. might be an inverted plug.

Well I got the three point working with that under the seat plug removed and by working the control till oil came out.So that's a relief. Thx! I'm still not sure what that other lever is under there though. And there is blue paint under the yellow. Also scraped some more and found these #s 41123C

as I told you in the previous message.. that's the draft control.
