I am in the market for a 3 point snowblower. I have looked at JD, Farm King, and Kubota blowers...

Do any of you have any opinions on Schulte snow blowers? They appear to be well made, but a little costly... I am looking at a 74 inch used one for 1200. Though, I am a little concerned that it may be too large for my 3320. Here is a link for the same model new:

I appreciate your thoughts.

Never used one in person but I have seem some of their larger units while in NY state. Most of their equipment is for large machines and are built like a brick **** house.

I don't think you will have any trouble running a blower that size on your tractor. I don't know much about the Shulte blowers though.

Good Luck,

Your tractor has 25.5 HP @ the PTO. The website reccomends 30 minmum.

I think the blower would work...but one size smaller might work better.

However, for $1200, I'd leap on it with no hesitation whatsoever...worst thing you might have to do is slow dow a bit.

I'm a little late responding to your post - if your tractor has a loader, the weight of the Schulte (550 lb) will not be a problem. With a 3ph snowblower it's also nice to have one that's wider than your rear wheels. If it is rated for more power than your tractor has, that's a good thing. It means the gearbox, impeller, auger and drive chain will survive longer. As others have said, you can always pick a lower gear if it takes too big a bite. On a used unit the gearbox is the money part. Anything else is easier to fix. Hope this is useful.

I had a Ford 72" snowblower on my Ford 1920(32HP) and I hardly knew it was there. It blew snow like crazy, but don't catch a stone in it. Anything bigger than a golfball can be big trouble! I got tired of driving backwards and straining my neck, so I sold it. Make sure you only blow downwind unless you like to be a human snowcone! Sounds like a good deal, just be aware of the limitations of the blower. Good luck!

I appreciate all of the responses!

I ended up buying the used Schulte 74 inch (manual chute) for $1000.00. It has a few paint chips otherwise everything seems to be in great shape. The guy even allowed me to take it for a spin on his tractor.

The blower is a heavy thing! I do have a 300CX upfront, I hope its enough to counter-balance the blower.

Now I am just waiting for snow!!!
