Does anyone have experience with ABI Attachments' 3-pt chain harrows?
3 Point Chain Harrows ::ABI Attachments::

I don't hear much about this brand around here at all. I really want a chain harrow. I've considered a simple drag-style chain harrow, transported by hanging from the loader bucket. With the hills we traverse, though, I don't like the idea of driving with the loader high enough to keep the harrow off the ground. Thus, I feel a 3-pt frame is necessary, and I really don't have the means to build one myself. The price is definitely right on the 8-ft model with ABI, as the only other one I've priced was $1695, made by these folks.
Harrows

I have no experience with chain harrows, first hand. I could see weight of the chain itself being very important. The ABI touts 1/2-in chain, which seems reasonably stout...

I just bought the 3 point ABI chain drag. I've only used it once and it seems like a nice well made piece of equipment. It did grab on something while I was using it and straightened out one of the chain pieces. I never felt it inside the tractor but I was able to fix it with the vise and a sledgehammer.

Being able to pick it up and move it with the 3 point is SO much easier than just a drag. We had an old drag that we pulled with chains and it was always a hassle. It was definitely worth the money difference for my use.

I plan to use it to rough the ground up for seeding grass and in the pasture before we fertilize.

Thanks, rubicon! What size did you get? Have you used chain-type drags before (pulled, not 3-pt) to which you could compare ABIs chain?

I need the 3-pt frame for a couple reasons, but I wanted to make sure the drag portion of ABIs drag was comparable in weight and quality to others.

I bought the 6x4. This is the first chain drag I've ever used, our other drag was a home made rigid type.

I feel like it was worth the money and should serve our purposes. It appears well made.

I just ordered the 6x4. It is one of the best from what I have been reading and observing, and the frame looks solid as well. To put it away, the frame can be placed against the wall and the spike harrow can be rolled up. I intend to put some quick links from the harrow to the frame so it can be reversed or turned over without having to unbolt anything. I was going the boom lift also, but not since I saw this set up. The price wasn't that bad either, especially considering the lift frame. That frame might also be handy for other things as well, will have to see.
