Hello everyone-
I have a YM2200 with a weak 3 pt lift, that I am having a hard time fixing. I feel stupid for having bought it without doing more homework re
arts availability. The FEL works fine, so I think the pump is OK. I have changed the oil and cleaned the filter. I pulled the valve and hydraulic cylinder and took them to my local hydraulic shop, who said the cylinder was not rebuildable, so I purchased a used unit. It did not work at all so I took both units back to the shop and they did what they could and rebuilt my original with new seals. They said the used one I bought was worse internally than my original. It is perhaps a bit better now, but still weak. Seems better when the hydraulic oil is cool, then weakens as it gets warm so it cannot lift a light 4ft box blade. I am getting pretty good at taking the **** thing apart, but am also growing frustrated. The hot/cold thing suggests to me that the seals are still bad. Seeking advice as to next step- try another used assembly? try another hydraulic shop? try to find a "real" mechanic? does this sound like the ram or is the valve more likely the culprit? am I even working on the right part of the machine? should I sell the **** thing as is and buy a new JD?
