What does it take to fix my 3pt lift?
The pto turns some even when not engaged. Enough to spin a shredder. The lift arms do not stop. They go up or down if I lift any where between lower and rise. The draft seems to work most of the time but I can't tell with the lift lever doing it thing. If I put the draft lever in between up and down, the lift lever sometimes will not go pst the draft leaver on the rise stroke. It will always past the draft lever going down. I even had the arms up and I lowered the lift lever and the arms went haft way down and the decided to go up for not reason.
This is on a NH TC55DA. I just bought it used. It had a backhoe attached. When I took off the BH and put on lift arms I found the problem.
I am guess if I buy a manual ($300) I can figure it out. Do I need any special tools? What would this cost in a shop?

WOW!
Don't everyone answer at once.
I know there are a look of readers/viewer whom like me do not have a clue. But, I also know there are many readers whom know a whole lot more than me.
Any help would be helpful.

I don't have a clue either. Thought you would like to know.

You'd probably be better off posting in the nh section of the board. It's a pretty specific question about a system that varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. I think you'll have better luck there.

Thanks to both of you.
I will try posting it in the Nh section.

Well, I posted it to the NH section and I have had 1 view.

you probably live half way close to a tractor dealer. ask the service manager the question and if he doesn't know the answer, ask if you can pick the best mechanics brain for a minute. offer to pay for the info. that question sounds lie a NH specific question.

It’s possible I’m not following completely, and I’m nowhere near any sort of expert. But as a starting point, have you verified that you have the tractor in position control, not draft control?

The dealer I use is not close at all.

MMagis...That is a very good question. Some times the obvious is over looked. Yes I did verify I was using the correct levers. But with the symptoms I described, I do not see how it would made much difference.

The good news....The place I bought it has said they will fix it and have it back to me in 1 to 2 weeks. We can only hope.

From viewing parts schematics I see that draft & height control mechanisms is rod(shaft) in side of a tube. Are these controls free so they came move independent of each other? Is feedback rod attached at both ends?
